FAQs

  • At Expand Psychology, we are proud to feature a diverse and collaborative team of clinicians who bring a wide range of expertise and advanced training to the care we provide. Our team includes licensed mental health professionals, clinicians in training, and experienced supervisors who foster the professional development of emerging therapists while ensuring high standards of care across all services.

  • Our licensed clinicians hold advanced degrees (LCSW, LPC, PsyD, or PhD) and have completed all required coursework, supervised hours, post-graduate training, and licensure exams to practice independently. They bring extensive experience in psychotherapy and/or psychological assessment and are dedicated to delivering personalized, evidence-based care.

Each provider maintains active licensure and is required to have regular engagement in continuing education—both internally and through external professional development—to ensure that their clinical work reflects the most current knowledge and practices in the field.

  • Several of our licensed clinicians also serve as clinical supervisors within our training program. These professionals have specialized expertise in clinical supervision and play a vital role in shaping the next generation of mental health providers. They are actively involved in case consultation, treatment planning, diagnostic formulation, mentorship, and the ongoing development of clinical judgment and ethical practice. Their oversight enhances the depth and quality of care across our team and ensures that our work remains reflective, rigorous, and collaborative.

  • Our clinicians in training are graduate-level providers who are accruing supervised clinical hours as part of their path towards independent practice. They deliver thoughtful, developmentally attuned care and receive regular, structured supervision from licensed professionals to ensure our clients receive the same high quality of care they can expect from licensed providers on staff.

As active participants in a rigorous training environment, they integrate the latest research, techniques, and clinical frameworks into their work. The collaborative nature of supervision—where each case benefits from multiple professional perspectives—enhances both client care and clinician growth. In addition, our training program allows us to offer services at various fee levels, expanding access to exceptional mental healthcare in the Northern Virginia community.
