About
Isabelle Harris, M.Ed., LPC-R, is a professional counseling resident at Expand Psychology. She works with children, adolescents, and adults, offering an empathetic and collaborative approach to therapy. Isabelle believes that meaningful progress begins with a strong therapeutic relationship and is committed to creating a safe, trusting space for every client. She partners with individuals to navigate life’s challenges, deepen self-understanding, and move toward a life aligned with their values.
Specialization
At Expand Psychology, Isabelle welcomes children, teens, and adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, OCD, depression, grief, life transitions, low self-esteem, relational issues, perfectionism, and trauma. She draws from a range of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Relational Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Psychodynamic Therapy to create thoughtful, individualized care. Isabelle is a trained SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) provider and often incorporates mindfulness practices to help clients build coping strategies for moments of distress and discomfort.
Education, Training, and Professional Experience
Isabelle earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and her Master’s degree in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia, where she also completed advanced coursework in clinical mental health counseling. She began her career in Fairfax County Public Schools, providing individual counseling to elementary-aged students. In this role, she worked in close partnership with parents, teachers, and school staff to support the emotional and academic development of her students. Since then, Isabelle has worked in a private practice setting supporting individuals across the lifespan.
Outside of the office, Isabelle enjoys reading, spending time in nature, cooking and trying out new recipes, practicing yoga, and traveling.
