Bianca Bonds, Ph.D., M.Ed. is a post-doctoral resident at The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment in Falls Church and Alexandria, VA, working with Expand Psychology. She is passionate about supporting adolescents and young adults through life transitions, identity exploration, and relational dynamics. Dr. Bonds believes in empowering clients to build lives aligned with their values and dreams. A former educator, she also enjoys helping children, families, and emerging adults improve educational outcomes through behavioral and academic support.
Specialization
Dr. Bonds provides treatment and assessments for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, attentional difficulties, emotional dysregulation, identity related challenges, grief, and trauma-related concerns. She uses an integrative and culturally responsive approach informed by CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care. Dr. Bonds emphasizes the impact of relationships, systems, and experiences on client well-being and prioritizes person-centered care to foster empowerment, self-awareness, and growth.
Education, Training, and Professional Experience
Dr. Bonds earned her master’s degree from Peabody College at Vanderbilt University and her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Child Guidance Clinic of the DC Superior Courts. Her clinical training includes psychoeducational, psychological, and forensic evaluation, individual, group, and family therapy, consultation, and intervention.
