About

Adam Rosen, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist at the Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment in Falls Church and Alexandria, VA. He is passionate about providing evidence-based and compassionate care to children, adolescents, and families. Dr. Rosen strives to create a warm, safe, and collaborative environment where client concerns are centered and feedback is welcomed. He is committed to tailoring each treatment to the individual’s identity, culture, family system, and strengths—empowering clients to understand the roots of their struggles and develop meaningful tools for a more fulfilling life.

As Clinical Director, Dr. Rosen oversees the clinical operations of the practice, ensuring each client is paired with a best fit clinician on staff. He is also proud to oversee the clinical training program and enjoys supervising counseling trainees, doctoral psychology externs, and post-doctoral residents in support of the learning and growth of new and early career clinicians. Dr. Rosen also enjoys engaging in the larger psychology community and serves on the board of the Northern Virginia Clinical Psychologists. 

Specialization

Dr. Rosen specializes in individual, group, and family therapy; play therapy; parent guidance; school and multidisciplinary consultation; and psychological assessment. He has experience working with children, teens, and young adults facing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, complex trauma, neurodiverse conditions (such as ADHD and autism spectrum disorder), identity development, behavioral challenges, family conflict, life transitions, and severe mental illness. He places strong emphasis on close collaboration with caregivers and families throughout the therapeutic process.

Education, Training, and Professional Experience

Dr. Rosen earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from The George Washington University, where he specialized in the Child and Adolescent Track. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at The Help Group in Sherman Oaks, California, and his postdoctoral psychology residency at Community Health Center Inc. and The Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut, with a concentration in child and adolescent care. His training spans therapeutic schools, community mental health clinics, integrated primary care centers, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, and forensic assessment settings.
