Lindsay Burdette, Psy.D.
Doctoral Psychology Resident
About
Dr. Lindsay Burdette is a post-doctoral resident at Expand Psychology in Falls Church and Alexandria, Virginia. In her work with adults and adolescents 14 years and older, she prioritizes a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, authenticity, and emotional safety. She blends Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with psychodynamic approaches, tailoring therapy to individual history and values.
Specialization
Dr. Burdette specializes in talk therapy to address symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma. As a former professional athlete, she brings particular insight into the demands of high-performance environments and supports clients navigating perfectionism, performance anxiety, and injury recovery. Additionally, she is passionate about working with individuals navigating transitions out of high-control environments-whether deconstructing from rigid belief systems or retiring from athletics, the military, or an intense career. She helps clients untangle identity from performance, make room for grief, and begin to rebuild a sense of self.

Dr. Burdette earned her doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. Her clinical training includes neuropsychological assessment (Children’s Hospital of Atlanta), therapy and assessment for high school students (Friendship Public Charter School), and therapy for adults in private practice (Georgetown Psychology, North Star Psychological Services).
