About
Dr. Kirimi Fuller is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at The Center for Cognitive Therapy and Assessment, working with Expand Psychology. With 15 years of experience, she provides evidence-based treatment and assessment services to youth, adolescents, families, and adults. Dr. Fuller takes a person-centered and collaborative approach, working closely with individuals and families to understand their unique needs and create meaningful, lasting change. She is committed to building safe, non-judgmental therapeutic relationships where clients can learn new skills and address challenges. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her beagle, and exploring new places.
Specialization
Dr. Fuller specializes in treating trauma, anxiety, mood challenges, behavioral dysregulation, family conflict, and adjustment stress. She has a strong interest in supporting individuals who have experienced trauma and brings expertise in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Play Therapy, and psychodynamic approaches. She also has extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychological testing across the lifespan, with a focus on personality and social-emotional assessments. Her work is grounded in tailoring treatment to each client’s developmental stage and presenting concerns, always with a focus on collaboration and emotional safety.
Education, Training, and Professional Experience
Dr. Fuller earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from George Washington University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship, postdoctoral fellowship, and served as a Community Office director at the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut, focusing on play therapy and developmental assessments for children ages 0 to 5, clinical supervision, and consultation services with the local Head Start program. Dr. Fuller also spent time abroad conducting research at the Anna Freud Centre in London, UK. Most recently, she served as a Clinical Psychologist, Externship Director, and Team Leader at the City of Alexandria Community Services Board – Child and Family Behavioral Health Services. In these roles, she collaborated with local systems such as schools, child welfare, and court services to support youth and families dealing with serious mental illness.
